Host guidance
Hosting Responsibly on Loqal Space
Loqal Space is designed for low-impact daytime hosting within comfortable, community-led environments. This guide is here to help you welcome guests with confidence and care.
Loqal Space is designed around low-impact, daytime community hosting. We're a hosted hospitality platform — guests visit people's homes and studios, not commercial venues.
Section 1
Understanding your responsibilities
Every home is different, and so is every host. A few gentle things to keep in mind:
- Every property is different — what works for one host may not suit another.
- Mortgage, leasehold and insurance arrangements can vary.
- You may wish to review your own agreements or policies before hosting.
- Loqal guests visit for the day — they do not gain tenancy rights.
- Properties should remain primarily residential in character.
Section 2
Mortgage & property considerations
Occasional daytime hosting is generally lower impact than overnight accommodation. To keep things simple and respectful of your home:
- Loqal does not permit registered business addresses.
- Loqal is designed for hosted daytime access only.
- Hosting should remain occasional and complementary to your home life.
We recommend avoiding
- •High guest volumes
- •Permanent commercial setups
- •Signage on the property
- •Large teams working from the property
- •Daily commercial operations
- •Storage or warehousing
Section 3
Leasehold & residential buildings
If you live in a flat or shared building, a little neighbourliness goes a long way.
- Some residential buildings may include restrictions relating to business activity or visitor frequency.
- Hosts should remain considerate of neighbours and communal spaces.
Good hosting practices
- ✓Keep guest numbers low
- ✓Encourage quiet working
- ✓Avoid disruption to neighbours
- ✓Respect shared areas and entrances
Section 4
Insurance guidance
A short note on insurance — this isn't legal advice, just things worth thinking about.
- You may wish to review your home insurance wording.
- Some insurers may ask for disclosure if you host regularly.
- We're exploring specialist insurance partners to make this easier in the future.
